Anyone who knows our wonderful Head of Therapy, Becky, will know that she is super fit, has bags of energy and limitless enthusiasm, so it came as no surprise to find her at the front of the queue when we wanted to set up a Charity fundraiser as part of the 2.6 Challenge event which took place in lieu of the cancelled London Marathon this year. The 2.6 Challenge event was set up by the UK’s major events organisers as a means of recouping lost charitable funds.
On top of being a brilliant Dramatherapist, Becky spends her spare time running ‘Raise the Bar Bootcamps’ with business partner Kate. With the gauntlet laid down, it wasn’t long before the pair got planning and pulled together a bootcamp challenge based on the theme of ‘2.6’ and set up what can only be described as a virtual ‘beasting’ session for followers; comprising of 26 repetitions of 26 movements, followed by a 2.6 (or 6.2)km walk, run or cycle!
Joining the session on Saturday morning, ‘Raise The Bar’ followers, friends and family (and a few work colleagues who should have known better – ahem!) took up the challenge and joined in with an hour-long high intensity virtual exercise session, raising an incredible £2294 for Clear Sky!
Amazing work Becky and Kate and a massive thank you to everyone who took part, sponsored friends or cheered us on.
Here’s to the next fundraiser!
